What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- $100,000 annual W2 salary with weekly pay; comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
- On-site position at an Alpha K-8 campus in Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston (Central, South, or The Woodlands), TX; Park City, UT (Salt Lake City area); or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance available)
The most meaningful support you can offer a student who achieved 99% of their target is to insist it is not yet complete. If this standard feels uncomfortable, this role is not for you. If it energizes you because maintaining high expectations is how you demonstrate belief in a student's potential, continue reading.
At Alpha, academic learning happens through AI-powered applications. No traditional lectures. No conventional textbooks. Half your workday is devoted to facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. The remaining half involves working with students individually or in small groups, analyzing their progress via Coachbot analytics, and ensuring each one reaches 100% of their weekly app targets. You will not follow a rigid script — workshops provide a framework, but top performers customize them and create new sessions when needs arise.
A successful quarter means every student in your cohort completes their weekly app objectives, passes the Test2Pass for all life-skills workshops, and 90% report that they value your coaching. Falling short on any of these three measures means the role expectations are not met. During your first year you will master the operational framework; as you demonstrate your ability to maintain standards, advancement opportunities open to Lead Guide, where you mentor new staff while continuing direct student work.
If you prefer traditional classroom teaching, expect ready-made curriculum, or see warmth and rigorous standards as incompatible, this position is not suitable. If you have experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, tutor who refused to accept a student's resignation, or performer capable of engaging a room of eight-year-olds, the final interview stage is a full day on campus coaching actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 cohorts covering public speaking, concentration, feedback, and other transferable skills, customizing the framework and creating new sessions when you identify missing elements
- Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions that ensure every student reaches 100% of their weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and your individual relationship with each student to overcome resistance
- Overseeing the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-based assessment) for each life skill, and providing coaching to students until they achieve passing standards
- Adjusting your coaching approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing direct conversation and accountability
- Serving as the adult who maintains standards and the adult students trust; warmth creates the foundation for challenge, and challenge demonstrates your confidence in their capacity
- Delivering whiteboard lectures; academic content is housed in the applications, not delivered by you
- Creating curriculum from the ground up; you animate a proven framework through energy and narrative
- Passively monitoring students at computers; motivation in this context is active, individualized, and persistent
- Reducing a weekly target to enable a student to meet it; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not adjusting the goal
- Evaluating homework, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling parent outreach; Campus Leads manage parent-facing responsibilities, and the other tasks do not exist in this model
Guarantee that every student in your K-8 cohort achieves their weekly learning targets, demonstrates mastery of each life skill, and concludes the year reporting that they valued your coaching.

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Minimum 3 years of direct work with K-8 students (classroom instruction, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership)
