Youth Development Manager, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

Crossover
Elizabeth, NJ Full Time
POSTED ON 7/31/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/26/2026
The most effective leaders understand that success is not defined by personal achievement. It is defined by the growth and accomplishments of the people they lead.

If you have a proven track record of building high-performing teams, elevating others beyond their perceived limits, and excelling in cultures that demand excellence, this opportunity allows you to deploy those capabilities in service of the next generation.

At Alpha, students do not sit through traditional lectures. Instead, they advance academically through adaptive technology while Guides concentrate on coaching, accountability, motivation, and essential life skills. As a Lead Guide, your mission is to develop the team that drives this model—mentoring Guides, cultivating leaders, and fostering an environment in which students routinely surpass expectations.

This is not a traditional instructional coaching position, nor is it classroom teaching. You will not be reviewing lesson plans or observing lectures—because those do not exist. Your focus will be on cultivating a culture of excellence: coaching Guides, facilitating dynamic life skills workshops, and inspiring students toward ambitious objectives. Your effectiveness will be evaluated by the caliber of student experiences, team performance, and your capacity to uphold rigorous standards while motivating others to achieve them.

Alpha is constructing the world's leading K-12 educational experience. That mission demands leaders who have already demonstrated the ability to elevate team performance, make evidence-based decisions, and champion innovative approaches over legacy systems. If this reflects your experience, we would welcome the opportunity to connect.

This position is presently available at select Alpha campuses: Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Orange County, CA; and Santa Barbara, CA.

If you reside in one of these regions—or are open to relocation—we encourage you to apply. Outstanding candidates from other locations are also welcome to submit applications. As Alpha expands, we consistently align exceptional leaders with emerging opportunities throughout our growing campus network.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Coaching Guides to deliver exceptional student experiences consistently while upholding Alpha's rigorous standards.
  • Facilitating engaging life skills workshops that cultivate communication, leadership, focus, and other practical competencies for K-12 students.
  • Inspiring students to pursue ambitious learning objectives and maximize their progress within self-directed academic programs.
  • Leveraging data, direct observation, and coaching dialogues to enhance Guide effectiveness and student results.
  • Supporting the launch and establishment of new Alpha campuses by developing a culture grounded in excellence, accountability, and relentless improvement.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Teaching conventional academic courses or delivering content-focused lectures.
  • Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum materials.
  • Compromising standards to create artificial feelings of success rather than guiding students toward genuine mastery.
  • Leading a team remotely from an office without direct, regular coaching of students and Guides.
  • Maintaining outdated methods merely because "that's how it's always been done."
