What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Development Manager, Alpha - $150,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site at an Alpha campus: Atlanta, GA
- Oklahoma City, OK
- Tulsa, OK
- Austin, TX
- Keller (Fort Worth), TX
- The Woodlands (Houston), TX
- $150,000/year W2 salary, paid weekly. Day-one health benefits.
- Relocation support available
Alpha students complete their academic work in two hours daily via self-guided AI-powered applications. There are no teachers, no lectures, no traditional classroom instruction. This model frees you to focus on what genuinely shifts outcomes: facilitating high-energy workshops on public speaking, focus, and feedback; driving students toward every learning milestone using live analytics; and developing the Guides who support your work.
A typical morning might involve a coaching conversation with a Guide, examining performance metrics to pinpoint where a cohort is underperforming. By midday, you're running a structured workshop with students—executing a playbook exercise on feedback dynamics. Afternoons often shift to motivation work: engaging with individual students, discovering their drivers, and leveraging Alpha's incentive structure to re-engage a reluctant middle schooler. You maintain your own cohort throughout, ensuring you remain practiced in the competencies you're teaching others.
You've likely been out of step in traditional education environments: overly analytical, excessively results-oriented, too ready to question standard practices around student development. Alpha may be the first environment that aligns. You'll begin coaching Guides immediately, and as you generate measurable outcomes at scale, your authority over campus-wide program standards expands.
Uphold the standard. Transform the student. Apply now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour live workshops focused on life skills (public speaking, focus, feedback dynamics) for K-8 cohorts, executing Alpha's established playbook rather than creating new content
- Conducting motivation sessions that leverage student analytics and Alpha's incentive architecture (school currency, leaderboards) to achieve 100% goal attainment across your cohort
- Developing Guides through targeted coaching on program adherence and standards maintenance, ensuring each session yields concrete improvement steps
- Managing your own student cohort concurrently while advancing Guide capabilities
- Monitoring student satisfaction scores, goal completion data, and Guide performance indicators on a weekly basis to identify underperformance early
- Lecturing or providing academic tutoring. Students progress through self-directed applications without direct adult instruction on content.
- Creating curriculum or developing original lesson plans. The playbook is established; success is measured by execution fidelity, not creative innovation.
- Coaching Guides on instructional methodology. Since Guides don't teach traditional subjects, your focus is on energy management, motivation techniques, and accountability systems.
- Accepting 99% as sufficient when 100% is the standard. Maintaining the threshold demonstrates your belief in their capacity to reach it.
- Serving as the campus's emotional safety net. Students receive genuine connection alongside honest feedback and meaningful consequences.
Fulfill Alpha's three commitments to every student in your cohort: they develop genuine enthusiasm for school, learn at twice the pace of traditional classrooms, and acquire authentic life skills.
