Student Success Coach, Alpha - $120,000/year USD

Crossover
Orange, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 8/1/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/26/2026
The curriculum has already been created. The AI handles the teaching. Your role is to help a child discover they're capable of something they never imagined they could do.

Alpha students complete their academic coursework in only two hours per day through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to concentrate on what truly transforms lives: developing confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. Your days won't involve standing at the front of a classroom delivering lessons. Instead, you'll coach students as they work through obstacles, acknowledge their achievements, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.

You'll oversee a single K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half of your time will be dedicated to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining time involves coaching students both individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward challenging weekly objectives. Each moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops with greater capability and leave coaching sessions with expanded belief in what they can accomplish.

This position is not designed for someone seeking to deliver curriculum or manage a traditional classroom. It's intended for someone who excels at motivating young children, values measurable results, and understands that the right coach can alter a child's path. If you've motivated children as a teacher, coach, camp counselor, youth leader, or performer, you'll discover a distinctly different classroom experience here.

This is a full-time, on-site position at one of Alpha's campuses. We conduct national recruitment, so job postings may appear in nearby cities where we do not currently operate a campus.

Available openings exist in La Jolla (San Diego), Orange County (Lake Forest), Los Angeles (South Bay, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu), San Francisco Bay Area (San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont), Greenwich, CT, Boca Raton, Miami, Miami Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Chicago, Boston, New York City, and Kirkland (Seattle area).

If another Alpha campus location interests you, submit your application and indicate your preferred location—we will review you for the relevant opening.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops designed to help K-3 students develop communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other lasting skills through hands-on engagement rather than passive instruction.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and solid relationships to ensure every child remains on course for challenging weekly learning targets.
  • Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, continuing to coach students until they exhibit genuine comprehension—not merely attendance.
  • Modify your coaching approach to suit the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narratives for younger children or increased autonomy and responsibility for older students.
  • Cultivate relationships where students feel sufficiently supported to push beyond what they believed was within their reach.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering academic lessons from a whiteboard. Students complete academic work through adaptive software.
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and personalize established playbooks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
  • Supervising students as they quietly work on computers. Your function is hands-on coaching, motivation, and engagement.
  • Reducing standards when students encounter difficulty. Success is achieved by helping students meet the challenge, not by lowering the bar.
  • Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent correspondence.
