Academic Success Coach, Alpha - $150,000/year USD

Crossover
Orange, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 8/3/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/26/2026
You see refusing to lower the bar as the most respectful thing you can do for a student. You have competed, built, or succeeded at a level most people only observe from a distance: elite-level athletics, graduation with honors from a top university, a position at a highly competitive firm, or a company you founded and grew. Now imagine applying that same rigor in a setting with K-12 students who have never had someone like you guiding them—someone who insists they meet standards they never imagined reaching. If the idea of holding students to elite expectations feels too demanding, this role is not for you.

Alpha leverages AI-driven 1-on-1 instruction to allow students to complete core academics in roughly two hours per day. The rest of their time is devoted to life skills, passion projects, and authentic development. At Alpha's most rigorous campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a credible mentor whose record of achievement models what excellence looks like: someone capable of reading a room, establishing expectations, and coaching through resistance, distraction, and self-doubt.

Your role is not to teach. AI manages the academic instruction. Your role is to motivate, coach, and enforce the same exacting standards you've applied to yourself. Forty percent of your time is spent on direct 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions that identify obstacles and establish ambitious targets. Another forty percent involves facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery rather than engagement. The final twenty percent is spent leading morning kickoffs that define a culture in which mediocrity is not tolerated.

The trajectory here is depth, not upward mobility. You begin by mastering Alpha's approach and earning the trust of students. Within a few months, you become the person they rely on to challenge them beyond their perceived limits. The payoff is not a title change. It is the same cohort of students, year over year, maturing with you as their constant. It is seeing a student who avoided eye contact in September deliver a confident presentation to a room of adults by May.

This position remains student-focused. Students are the purpose, not a pathway to another role. If your motivation for leaving your current position is the mission rather than the credential, apply now.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions using Coachbot analytics and student data to identify obstacles, establish ambitious targets, and ensure accountability for execution
  • Facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery by drawing on credible stories from your own elite background, and evaluating mastery via Alpha's Test2Pass framework
  • Establishing the cultural standard each morning through focused kickoffs that communicate high-performance expectations across campus
  • Monitoring student progress in real time and modifying coaching approaches based on data rather than intuition
  • Cultivating trusted mentor relationships with students and families by maintaining high standards, consistency, and documented motivation strategies

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Teaching lessons, creating curriculum, or grading assignments — Alpha's AI-driven academic platform manages instruction; you manage motivation
  • Presenting to a classroom of 30 students (your work is intensive coaching in small groups, not large-format teaching)
  • Supervising other staff or advancing through an administrative track (this role centers on direct student impact, not organizational advancement)
  • Attending faculty meetings or dealing with institutional bureaucracy (your time remains concentrated on students)
  • Reducing expectations to meet targets (if a student achieves 99%, your task is to understand what prevented 100%)
