What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Leader, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- Springfield, MA
- Annual compensation of $200,000
- Health benefits effective immediately
Alpha is opening a completely new campus in this city, and we're looking for a leader who already knows Springfield's educational landscape. You will oversee 15 Guides who support and inspire students while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No traditional "teaching." Abundant action. Absolute leadership.
Your objective: guarantee that every student enjoys school, progresses at twice the speed of conventional classrooms, and develops essential life competencies. This is not a conventional Principal position. You will maintain rigorous standards, drive decisions through data, and construct Springfield's finest school from the ground up.
Lead through metrics. Coach toward excellence. Submit your application today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Establish our Springfield, MA campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100 students from the outset with operational precision across all dimensions.
- Facilitate live workshops with K-8 students on life competencies: Conduct dynamic one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and feedback exchange. Apply Alpha's established playbook to ensure students develop skills conventional schools overlook while maintaining engagement and enjoyment.
- Drive every student toward 100% goal attainment: Develop personalized motivational frameworks for each individual student. Deploy data-informed strategies to address resistance and sustain engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student reaching their established targets.
- Develop Guides to peak performance and uphold Alpha's quality standards: Leverage data to surface performance deficiencies, provide clear feedback, and monitor progress. Execute difficult personnel decisions when performance standards aren't met and model the benchmark for excellence across your campus.
- Execute data-informed leadership decisions for campus operations: Examine performance indicators across personnel, operations, parent engagement, and organizational culture. Identify challenges, perform root cause analysis, engage relevant stakeholders, and deploy measurable interventions. Monitor every decision and iterate based on outcomes.
- Teaching or providing academic tutoring. Students advance through Alpha's self-directed EdTech platform, not through traditional lectures delivered by adults.
- Creating lesson plans or educational curriculum. Alpha's operational playbook already exists. Your responsibility centers on execution and leadership, not curriculum development.
- Overseeing budgets or conducting staff recruitment. Centralized functions manage financial operations and talent acquisition. Your focus remains exclusively on campus outcomes and culture.
- Serving as the content expert. This position is 80% leadership and engagement, 20% education. You motivate, the platform educates.
Execute Alpha's three core promises: every student enjoys school, progresses at twice the rate of traditional models, and develops critical life competencies — at a newly established Springfield campus from the first day.
