What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Specialist, Prequel (Remote) - $60,000/year USD position at Crossover?
You recognize that shift. The instant a student moves from guessing to reading with intention. They glance up and say, "I can do this." If that moment is what you want to create daily, this will feel like the right place.
Prequel is a remote-first online school designed around measurable growth, not hours logged. We're rethinking student learning so they advance more quickly, find satisfaction in the work, and finish with demonstrable confidence.
In most weeks, you'll deliver high-impact intervention sessions. The remainder, you'll facilitate focused motivation check-ins that keep students progressing and meeting their targets. This position fits those who value autonomy, immediate feedback, and visible results. It's not suited for anyone seeking a rigid playbook or who avoids working with data.
If your aim is to support struggling readers in achieving real progress—and you want the flexibility to customize your methods for each student—we'd welcome the conversation.
What You Will Be Doing
Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational support that strengthens confidence.
Basic Requirements
