The most impactful thing you can do for a student who scored 99% is tell them it isn't passing. If that idea makes you uncomfortable, this role isn't for you. If it resonates, read on.

At Alpha, students complete their academic work in two hours daily using self-directed, AI-driven applications. There are no teachers. No lectures. No classroom-based instruction. This structure allows you to focus on what truly shifts outcomes: facilitating high-intensity workshops on communication, concentration, and critique; using live analytics to motivate students toward full goal attainment; and coaching the Guides who support your mission.

A typical morning might begin with a one-on-one Guide coaching conversation, analyzing performance data and pinpointing where a cohort is slipping. By midday you're facilitating a student workshop, executing a structured activity on constructive feedback exchange. Afternoons transition to direct motivation work: engaging individual students, uncovering their intrinsic drivers, and leveraging Alpha's incentive framework to re-engage a reluctant middle schooler. You manage your own cohort alongside this work, keeping your skills aligned with what you're teaching others.

You've likely been the outlier in traditional education: overly analytical, overly outcome-oriented, overly willing to question conventional practices around student development. Alpha may be the first environment that aligns with your approach. You'll begin coaching Guides immediately, and as you demonstrate scalable impact, your influence over program-wide standards will expand.

Uphold the standard. Transform the learner. Apply today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour workshops on essential competencies (public speaking, concentration, feedback exchange) for elementary and middle school cohorts (K-8), delivering Alpha's established playbook with precision rather than personal interpretation
  • Conducting motivation interventions informed by student data and Alpha's incentive architecture (campus currency, performance leaderboards) to achieve 100% goal completion across your cohort
  • Coaching Guides on program adherence and standards execution, ensuring every coaching interaction yields concrete improvement steps
  • Managing your own student cohort while simultaneously developing other Guides
  • Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal attainment rates, and Guide performance indicators on a weekly basis to identify declining performance early

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Teaching or tutoring academic content. Students progress through self-directed applications without direct adult instruction.
  • Creating curriculum or developing original lesson materials. The playbook is established; success is measured by execution fidelity, not creative reinvention.
  • Coaching Guides on instructional pedagogy. Since Guides don't teach, your coaching centers on energy management, motivational techniques, and accountability frameworks.
  • Accepting 99% performance when 100% is the standard. Maintaining expectations demonstrates your belief in student capability.
  • Serving as the campus emotional support figure. Students receive genuine connection alongside honest feedback and meaningful consequences.

Program Director Key Responsibilities

Fulfill Alpha's three core commitments to every student in your cohort: they develop a love for school, accelerate learning at twice the rate of traditional classrooms, and build meaningful life competencies.

Basic Requirements

  • Available to work on-site at one of these locations: Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Austin, TX; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; The Woodlands (Houston), TX (relocation assistance available)
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline
  • 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or comparable domain
  • Demonstrated history of managing a team of 5 or more adults, including responsibility for hiring and performance-based dismissal decisions
  • Hands-on experience working with children aged 5-14 in educational or developmental contexts
  • Created, launched, or substantially scaled a program, team, business, school, or initiative from inception
  • Documented experience using data and metrics to establish weekly objectives and inform decisions, beyond passive reporting
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related field
  • Experience coaching sports, directing experiential or outdoor programs, managing camps, or leading youth ministry at a scale requiring cohort management and outcome measurement
  • Transitioned from classroom instruction to program leadership in adjacent sectors: EdTech ventures, tutoring organizations, youth-focused nonprofits, or school intervention systems
  • Strong early-career performance record — academically, athletically, or professionally — prior to entering leadership roles
  • Conviction that conventional education models are fundamentally flawed and personal commitment to systemic redesign
