The most supportive action you can take with a student who achieves 99% is to withhold calling it 100%. Not out of indifference — but because you know they're capable of reaching it, and settling for less is the true disservice. If that reasoning resonates, continue reading. Students at Alpha don't passively absorb lectures. They advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. Your responsibility is to ensure three commitments are met for every student in your cohort: a genuine love of learning, acceleration at 2x the traditional pace, and acquisition of skills that extend beyond textbooks. You'll also develop the Guides who uphold these same commitments across your campus.

All decisions are grounded in data and every interaction is in-person. Your time is divided between your own student cohort and the Guides under your leadership — and the expectation remains consistent for both: tangible progress, without compromise. When a Guide's session underperforms, you don't draft a memo; you observe directly, debrief immediately, and implement corrections that same afternoon.

You'll witness reserved children present with confidence before adults. You'll observe a student who once "despised school" request to remain after hours. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their growth, because upholding high expectations is how you demonstrate belief in someone's potential.

You may be establishing a new campus from the ground up and shaping the foundational culture that will define the institution. As the campus develops, your role evolves from startup operator to coaching leader, cultivating the team that expands Alpha's model throughout your region.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating one-hour life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students on subjects such as public speaking and concentration, adhering to Alpha's established framework
• Conducting daily motivational sessions that ensure 100% of students achieve their weekly app targets through age-appropriate methods including school currency and leaderboards
• Developing Guides via direct observation, specific feedback, and practical coaching to ensure they deliver sessions with equivalent energy and accuracy
• Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to pinpoint students requiring support, then providing direct intervention
• Personally mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from all Guides
  
  

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students progress via adaptive apps; your focus is elevating the people who support them.
• Delivering traditional lectures. Your role is 80% performer, 20% content expert; if you prefer standing at a whiteboard, this role isn't suitable.
• Compromising standards due to external pressure from parents or school leadership. A 99% score means "not yet" — and you'll be empowered to maintain that threshold.
• Spending time in an office managing administrative tasks. The majority of your day involves direct engagement with students and Guides.
• Waiting extended periods for performance insights. Outcomes are visible in real-time through Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.
  
  

Principal Learning Consultant Key Responsibilities

Basic Requirements

• Currently residing in or prepared to relocate to Beverly Hills, CA; La Jolla (San Diego), CA; Piedmont, CA; South Bay (LA), CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA (relocation support available)
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline (Master's preferred; traditional teaching certifications are not required)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or comparable field
• Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training strategies
• Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including recruitment and performance-based separation decisions
• Background in coaching, mentoring, or delivering actionable feedback to enhance engagement and outcomes
• Experience engaging with youth ages 5–14 in educational or developmental contexts
• Skilled in leveraging data and metrics to inform decisions and foster ongoing improvement
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
  
  

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or Business
• History as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program coordinator where you directly motivated children to achieve quantifiable objectives
• Experience developing adults in positions where performance was measured and evaluated
• Ease performing before large groups of children. The presence that commands attention in a room full of 8-year-olds.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
