What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site in Springfield, MA (relocation assistance available)
- $100,000 annual salary, disbursed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full day's worth of academics in approximately two hours using adaptive software. No traditional lectures. No physical textbooks. Your role covers what technology cannot: guiding Pre-K through 8th grade students in life competencies such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You will spend half your day facilitating hands-on workshops following structured playbooks and employing storytelling techniques. The remaining half involves working with students individually or in small groups, analyzing their progress through adaptive learning platforms via Coachbot analytics, and ensuring they achieve 100% of their weekly objectives. Students demonstrate mastery through Test2Pass evaluations, not through participation metrics.
This position is selective. During your first year, you will become proficient in the playbook: workshop facilitation, motivation coaching, mastery verification, and demonstrate your ability to hold every student accountable to 100% goal completion. Execute this successfully and advancement to Lead Guide becomes available. You must bring warmth, strong presence, and uncompromising standards. Submit your application now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life competency workshops covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and constructive feedback exchange, adjusting your delivery and energy for Pre-K–8 developmental stages
- Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions where you analyze each student's adaptive learning app performance (via Coachbot analytics), establish targets, and ensure they achieve 100% of their weekly objectives
- Administering and scoring Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine mastery of each life skill, not merely attendance
- Providing focused interventions when students experience academic or engagement setbacks — diagnosing underlying issues and developing corrective action plans
- Cultivating authentic connections with every student so they trust your guidance through challenges, distractions, and moments of uncertainty
- Teaching traditional academic content through direct instruction (students acquire core subjects via adaptive applications, independent of your involvement)
- Creating original lesson plans or curriculum materials (Alpha supplies life skills frameworks; your responsibility is delivering them with enthusiasm and narrative skill)
- Handling parent communications or administrative operations (Campus Leads manage those functions; you remain concentrated on student development)
- Evaluating assignments or preparing students for standardized testing (these elements do not exist in this model)
- Operating independently (you function within a campus team alongside Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)
Guarantee that every student in your cohort develops a love for school, achieves mastery in critical life skills, and completes 100% of their academic objectives through adaptive learning technology.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- 3 years of direct experience working with Pre-K–8 students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program management capacities).
- Demonstrated experience motivating or coaching Pre-K–8 students toward academic, behavioral, athletic, or extracurricular objectives, with at least one concrete example you can articulate (including the goal, your specific actions, and the result achieved).
- Comfort with a coaching-focused model where all academic content delivery occurs through the learning platform. Your role centers on motivation and guidance, not core subject instruction.
- Regular use of generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude).
- Availability to work on-site at Alpha's Springfield, MA campus (relocation assistance provided).
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
- Background in youth sports coaching, camp direction, or after-school programming where you held direct accountability for motivating children toward defined objectives.
- History of significant personal accomplishment (academic distinctions, competitive athletics, or leadership positions requiring sustained high performance).
- Innate storytelling capability: you can maintain Pre-K–8 students' full attention for an hour without elevating your voice.
- Success engaging previously disengaged or resistant students and converting them into active learners.
- Experience supporting students who receive special education services.
