Kindergarten Teacher, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover
Phoenix, AZ Full Time
POSTED ON 5/25/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/17/2026
  • $100,000 annual W2 salary paid weekly, plus health, dental, and vision benefits from day one
  • On-site position at an Alpha campus located in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT — relocation assistance available

You're not here to teach. You're here to motivate.

The most powerful thing you can do for a six-year-old who reached 99% of their target is tell them it's not finished. If that expectation feels harsh, this role isn't for you. If it resonates because you know that holding the line is how you demonstrate belief in a kindergartener's potential, read on.

At Alpha, students in grades K-2 complete their academics through AI-driven applications over two hours each day. There are no lectures. No worksheets. You'll spend half your time facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering topics like public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange. These workshops provide structure, not rigid scripts — the strongest performers in this position customize them for their group and create new ones when gaps emerge. The remaining half of your day is spent working with students individually or in small clusters, analyzing Coachbot data, and guiding each child toward 100% completion of their weekly app targets. With five- and six-year-olds, energy and playfulness aren't optional; they're the tools you use to sustain attention long enough to teach anything meaningful. Warmth creates the foundation that lets you challenge them. Challenge signals that you know they're capable.

A successful quarter means every student completes their weekly app objectives, passes the Test2Pass for every life-skills workshop, and at least 90% report that they love you. Fall short on any of these three and you've missed the mark. In your first year, you'll internalize the system; once you demonstrate your ability to uphold standards, you'll have the opportunity to advance to Lead Guide, where you mentor new team members while continuing to work directly with children.

If you're drawn to traditional classroom teaching, prefer a pre-packaged curriculum, or think warmth and rigor can't coexist, this won't be a fit. If you've thrived as an early-elementary teacher who loved circle time, a camp counselor for young children, a coach for youth sports, a performer in children's theater, or anyone capable of commanding a room of kindergarteners through voice, play, and sheer presence, the final step before receiving an offer is a shadow day on campus where you'll coach actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for groups of 10-15 students in grades K-2, covering topics such as public speaking, focus, feedback, and other foundational competencies
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions to keep students progressing toward their weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot data, Alpha's motivational tools (school currency, leaderboards), and the personal connection you've developed with each child
  • Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-based evaluation) for each life skill, and working with students who don't pass on the first attempt until mastery is achieved
  • Engaging kindergarteners through songs, stories, physical activity, and humor, while maintaining real, quantifiable expectations for first and second graders
  • Serving as the caring adult children are excited to see at morning drop-off AND the adult who won't allow them to settle for less than their best

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering whiteboard lectures; academic content is delivered through the apps, not by you
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up; Alpha supplies the framework and you execute it
  • Passively monitoring students on computers; motivation in this role is direct, individualized, and continuous
  • Reducing a weekly target so a child can meet it; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not adjusting the goal
  • Assigning grades to homework, preparing for standardized tests, or handling parent outreach; Campus Leads manage parent communication, and the other tasks don't exist in this model

Kindergarten Teacher Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student in your K-2 group achieves their weekly learning targets, demonstrates mastery of each life skill, and finishes the year reporting that they loved you.

Basic Requirements

  • Ready to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance provided)
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4 to 8 (including early-elementary teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership)
  • A concrete example you can share of motivating a young child toward a challenging goal: the objective, your actions, and the result
  • Available to participate in a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus
  • Comfortable allowing AI to manage instructional delivery while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills coaching
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori or progressive early education, or after-school programs where you held direct responsibility for motivating young children toward defined outcomes
  • History of personal high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional) that makes holding others to rigorous standards natural rather than performative
  • Performer's instinct with young children — the capacity to captivate a room of kindergarteners using voice, playfulness, and physical energy
