What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Space Design, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
Certain spaces simply work. You instinctively want to understand why. If you're a designer who perceives both micro-details and macro-systems, who thrives in physical environments rather than theoretical presentations, and who believes exceptional, practical spaces can scale nationally, this role channels that sensibility into action.
We are constructing a nationwide network of 2 Hour Learning campuses—places where students complete a full academic day in two focused hours, then dedicate the remainder of their time to exploring interests, developing life competencies, and staying active. Your responsibility is to make these environments memorable. As the execution lead for interior environments across our network, you will establish modular standards governing layout, FF&E, play areas, and wayfinding. You will ensure precise execution at every location. You will visit campuses in person, identify shortcomings others overlook, define upgrade scopes, and shepherd them from budgeting through installation.
This role differs from conventional design positions in that it is not isolated from implementation. You won't deliver drawings and disengage. You will be present on-site, troubleshooting installations, coaching vendors, and gathering insights that refine subsequent rollouts. If you are prepared to translate your design expertise into nationwide influence, this is your opportunity.
What You Will Be Doing
Guarantee that every campus provides a premium, brand-consistent, and pedagogically effective physical environment by developing and implementing modular design frameworks that maintain quality at scale.
Basic Requirements
Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be. They’re tearing down the outdated one-size-fits-all model and replacing it with AI-driven personalized learning that helps kids master academics in just two hours a day.
With students consistently ranking in the top 1-2% nationally and the top 20% achieving an astonishing 6.5x growth, they’re proving that smarter learning is possible. At 2 Hour Learning, it’s talent and performance that matter.
They offer a dynamic, on-campus and remote-friendly environment where innovators, educators, and AI specialists can be a part of fixing a broken school system.
2 Hour Learning is reprogramming learning for the AI era.
Here’s How They’re Fixing It.

What You Will Be Doing
- Build modular, replicable design systems for layout, FF&E, materials, and play environments that adapt across varied campus contexts
- Perform structured on-site evaluations to measure adherence to brand standards and identify high-leverage enhancements
- Produce detailed, visual, budget-aligned proposals for space enhancements tied to pedagogy, brand identity, and parent expectations
- Supervise vendor execution on the ground, maintaining fidelity to standards, budgets, and schedules through live quality assurance
- Document post-installation outcomes—what succeeded, what failed—and refine playbooks with those learnings
- Crafting unique, boutique environments that cannot scale or be reproduced.
- Delivering specifications and disengaging. You own the process from evaluation through installation.
- Waiting for complete information. This role values proactive thinking, rapid iteration, and sound judgment under uncertainty.
- Generating open-ended design concepts in isolation. The work is tightly aligned to brand and operational realities.
- Operating remotely from a desk. Expect to be in the field 50-75% of your time.
