What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Coach, Alpha - $150,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site at an Alpha campus: Atlanta, GA
- Oklahoma City, OK
- Tulsa, OK
- Austin, TX
- Keller (Fort Worth), TX
- The Woodlands (Houston), TX
- Park City (Salt Lake City), UT
- Toronto, Canada
- $150,000/year W2 salary, paid weekly. Day-one health benefits.

Alpha students complete their academic learning in two hours daily using self-guided AI-powered applications. No traditional teachers. No lectures. No classroom subject management. This structure allows you to focus on the work that fundamentally alters student outcomes: delivering high-energy workshops on public speaking, focus, and feedback; using real-time analytics to motivate students toward complete goal achievement; and developing the Guides who support you.
A typical morning may include a one-on-one Guide coaching session, analyzing performance data and pinpointing cohort gaps. By midday you're facilitating a live student workshop, executing a playbook exercise on feedback dynamics. Afternoons transition to motivation work: engaging individual students, identifying their drivers, and applying Alpha's incentive framework to re-engage a struggling 7th grader. You maintain direct responsibility for your own cohort, ensuring you remain proficient in the competencies you're teaching others.
You've likely been the outlier in education: excessively data-oriented, overly results-driven, too ready to question conventional approaches to student development. Alpha may be the first environment that aligns with your approach. You'll develop other Guides immediately, and as you demonstrate scaled impact, your authority over campus-wide program standards expands.
Uphold the standard. Transform the student. Apply now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour live workshops on life skills (public speaking, focus, giving and receiving feedback) for K-8 (elementary and middle school) cohorts, executing Alpha's playbook with precision rather than creating original content
- Conducting motivation sessions leveraging student analytics and Alpha's incentive structure (school currency, leaderboards) to achieve 100% student goal completion
- Developing Guides on program adherence and standards enforcement, ensuring every coaching interaction yields concrete improvement steps
- Managing your own student cohort while simultaneously building Guide capability
- Monitoring student satisfaction scores, goal completion rates, and Guide performance data weekly to identify declining performance before it escalates
- Lecturing or tutoring students on academic subjects. Students complete academic work through self-guided apps without direct adult instruction.
- Creating curriculum or developing lesson plans independently. The playbook is established; success depends on execution fidelity, not creative innovation.
- Coaching Guides on instructional technique. Guides don't deliver instruction, so your coaching focuses on energy, motivation, and accountability.
- Accepting 99% when the standard is 100%. Maintaining the standard demonstrates your belief in their capacity to achieve it.
- Serving as the "big ball of empathy" common in traditional schools. Students receive connection alongside honest feedback and meaningful consequences.
Deliver Alpha's three commitments to every student in your cohort: they love school, learn twice as fast as a traditional classroom, and develop real life skills.
