Alpha operates on a two-hour learning model. Morning academic instruction occurs through adaptive applications, freeing your schedule for the work that truly transforms a child's trajectory: motivation, life skills, coaching, and accountability. You directly oversee a cohort of K-3 students while coaching the Guides (Alpha's term for the adults who mentor and inspire students) who manage their daily development. You remain actively engaged each day, not directing from a remote office.
Your typical day alternates among three core activities. You review performance data and Coachbot analytics to identify which students and Guides require intervention. You conduct coaching conversations that conclude with concrete next actions rather than general encouragement. And you command the focus of a room filled with five- to nine-year-olds during workshops on public speaking, concentration, or how to give and receive feedback.
When you identify effective approaches, you document them. The playbooks you create establish the benchmark that all other Guides implement, expanding your influence from a single cohort to the entire level. What You Will Be Doing
- Coaching Guides and students through performance data review, classroom observation, and direct feedback, then maintaining accountability to measurable objectives for both groups
- Leading one-hour live workshops for K-3 students on life skills including public speaking, concentration, collaboration, resilience, accountability, and feedback exchange
- Conducting individual and small-group motivation sessions that link each child's aspirations and interests to tangible academic advancement
- Creating and refining playbooks that convert your most effective practices into replicable systems other Guides can implement reliably
- Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating facilitation excellence so standards remain consistent as the team expands
- Providing academic instruction or lecturing from the classroom front; adaptive applications handle content delivery while you coach the people
- Reducing expectations when a student encounters difficulty
- Overseeing from a distance as instructional coaches and principals typically do; you remain integrated with your cohort every day
- Managing the entire campus budget, operations, and parent relations; a Campus Lead handles these responsibilities so you can concentrate on student and Guide results
- Advocating for traditional teaching approaches or adhering to a conventional K-12 curriculum

Basic Requirements
- Willing to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ; relocation assistance is available
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or a related field
- At least 5 years working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5 to 9)
- Experience leading a team of 5 or more people, including authority to hire and remove people based on performance results
- Experience building, launching, or substantially growing a program, team, school, or initiative from the ground up, not taking over an existing one
- Comfortable working in a school that rejects traditional teaching approaches
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Master's degree in a related field
- Track record using metrics, dashboards, or analytics to identify issues and produce measurable improvement
- Experience coaching or managing other adults toward measurable results, not just executing the work yourself
- Background in youth development, camp leadership, competitive coaching, tutoring, or enrichment programs where motivation was essential
- Comfort and proficiency facilitating or public speaking before rooms full of young children

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
