Early Childhood Educator, Alpha - $150,000/year USD

Crossover
Forest, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/28/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/19/2026
  • On-site at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ — support for relocation available
  • $150,000 annually
  • Full-time position

Traditional elementary schools reduce expectations when students fall behind. You do the opposite. You know a six-year-old can achieve far more than conventional classrooms demand, and you've used evidence to demonstrate this repeatedly.

Alpha operates on a two-hour learning framework. Academic content is delivered through adaptive apps each morning, freeing your schedule for the interventions that truly transform children: coaching, motivation, life skills development, and accountability. You directly oversee a cohort of K-3 learners while coaching the Guides (Alpha's terminology for the adults who mentor and motivate students) who drive their daily growth. You remain actively involved each day, never managing remotely from down the corridor.

Your typical day alternates among three core activities. You analyze performance metrics and Coachbot data to identify which students and Guides need support. You conduct coaching sessions that equip people with concrete next actions rather than generic praise. And you command the focus of a group of five- to nine-year-olds during workshops covering public speaking, concentration, or how to give and receive feedback.

When you identify effective strategies, you document them. The playbooks you create set the benchmark that all other Guides follow, expanding your influence from a single cohort to the entire grade level. Demonstrating your ability to scale that quality is your pathway to greater leadership responsibility here.

If reducing standards seems compassionate to you, this role isn't right. If elevating them feels like showing respect, submit your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Providing coaching to Guides and students through performance metrics, classroom observation, and direct input, then maintaining accountability to quantifiable objectives for both groups
  • Leading one-hour live workshops with K-3 students focused on life skills including public speaking, concentration, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and feedback exchange
  • Conducting individual and small-group motivation conversations that link each child's aspirations and interests to tangible academic advancement
  • Creating and refining playbooks that translate your most effective practices into replicable frameworks other Guides can implement reliably
  • Teaching Guides these playbooks and demonstrating exemplary facilitation so quality remains consistent as the team expands

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Providing academic lessons or lecturing in front of the classroom; adaptive applications handle content delivery while you coach people
  • Reducing expectations in response to student difficulty
  • Managing from afar as instructional coaches and principals typically do; you remain embedded daily within your assigned cohort
  • Managing campus-wide budget, operations, and family communications; a Campus Lead handles those responsibilities so you can concentrate on student and Guide results
  • Advocating for traditional instructional approaches or adhering to standard K-12 curricula

Early Childhood Educator Key Responsibilities

Fulfill Alpha's three commitments to every K-3 student: they develop a love for school, accelerate learning at twice the normal rate, and cultivate outstanding life skills and self-reliance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or related discipline

  • Track record leading a team of 5 or more individuals, with authority to make hiring and performance-based removal decisions
  • Background building, launching, or substantially expanding a program, team, school, or initiative from scratch rather than taking over an established one
  • Willing to work in an educational environment that rejects conventional teaching methodologies
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated history leveraging metrics, dashboards, or analytics to identify issues and produce measurable gains

  • Confidence and proficiency facilitating sessions or speaking publicly before groups of young children
