Job Summary
The Optometrist focuses on delivering primary vision care as part of Crossover’s patient-centered medical home.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides primary vision care
- Conducts eye examinations to diagnose vision problems and ocular diseases
- Measures patients visual perception, acuity, focus and coordination ability
- Analyzes test results and develops a treatment plan
- Utilizes diagnostic procedures and eye drops to aid in the diagnosis of vision problems and prescribes pharmaceutics to treat eye diseases
- Diagnoses conditions caused by systemic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, referring patients to other health practitioners in Crossover’s practice as needed
- Ensures clinic areas and instrumentation meet quality compliance standards
- Manages communication with patients, other Crossover practitioners, and optical partners to support quality clinical care
- Committed to patient satisfaction, providing excellent service and delivering an outstanding eye care experience
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated success in patient-centered optometry practice
- Active license to practice optometry in applicable state
- Graduate of an accredited school of Optometry
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- May require standing, walking and sitting for extended amounts of time.
- Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Includes full range of body motion including potential of handling and lifting patients.
- Requires corrected vision, hearing and speech within normal ranges. Must be able to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
