The practice serves as a trusted provider in the community with many, many referrals from primary care, other Ophthalmologists and many Optometrists. The Ophthalmalmology team is passionate about offering tailored, high-quality ophthalmic solutions designed to meet the unique needs of each patient and their parents. We also have a Children's Optical for frames and eyeglasses in addition to contact lenses. This is not a corporate medical office but a private practice with a much better and family type atmosphere that is unique in the modern practice world today.
Role Description
We have an opportunity for either a part-time or full-time, on-site position for an Optometrist, based at the above office. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and manage eye conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for Pediatric eye care and strabismus cases. Additional responsibilities include communicating with patients and parents about eye health, maintaining accurate patient records, and staying abreast of advancements in optometric healthcare to ensure the highest quality of care. We have access to visual field testing, OCT, corneal topography, MYAH, and ophthalmic ultrasound.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in performing comprehensive eye exams and diagnosing eye conditions, including pediatric and strabismus-related cases.
- Ability to prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate treatments for vision and eye health improvement. Interest in myopia control.
- Strong counseling and communication skills, especially for working with children and their families to explain diagnoses and treatments.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate and detailed patient records; familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.
- Current Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and state licensure to practice as an Optometrist in Texas.
- A passion for working with pediatric patients and a dedication to high-quality patient care in an ophthalmology-focused setting.
- Additional certifications in pediatric optometry or related subspecialties are a plus.
