Job Title Summer Staff
Reports to: Aaron Markgraf - CrossLife Christian Academy Principal/Director of Camp CrossLife
CrossLife Christian Academy's summer program, Camp CrossLife, runs for 7 weeks of the summer (June 8 - July 24). This position is for those 7 weeks additional training time.
The Summer Staff will lead the Camp CrossLife summer program by providing children with a safe, welcoming, and high-quality learning environment, that is rooted in God’s Word. The Summer Staff is responsible for creating lesson plans and implementing them throughout the day. Ultimately, the summer staff is responsible for supporting CrossLife Christian Academy in its mission of providing excellence in education, rooted in the timely truths of God’s Word.
The summer staff has a cooperative relationship with the Director. They work as a team to provide children with the best summer experience possible. Summer staff works collaboratively with each other and the CrossLife staff as a whole, to support the children and carry out their tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma
- Early Childhood or Elementary Education coursework, training, or experience (formal college education preferable)

DUTIES
- Create weekly lesson plans to fit with the weekly theme, using the curriculum provided as framework.
- Teaches age-appropriate lessons and activities daily
- Implementation of the planned curriculum and lessons
- Meet with the Director to review week and plans for following week
- Ensures that the classroom expectations are being followed consistently
- Follows all classroom and school procedures to ensure the safety of all students
- Observes student work and provides support as needed
- Redirects children’s behavior in order to increase attention and focus
- Supports children who are not comprehending lessons and guides them individually or in small groups
- Builds strong relationships with students, parents, families, and colleagues
- Engages in appropriate and positive teacher-child interactions in the classroom
- Communicates regularly and effectively
- Assists with Vacation Bible School (June 9 - 13 first half of the day)
- Additional duties, at the discretion of Director
ANTICIPATED WEEKLY TIME COMMITMENT: 40 hours
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $19.00 per hour
