SERVICE TECHNICIAN
We are a Michigan-based leader in car wash equipment installation, service, and chemical distribution. We are expanding and seeking an experienced Service Technician who can operate independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and represent our company professionally in the field.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can step in with minimal training and immediately contribute to service and installation work.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial car wash equipment throughout Michigan. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in the field. You will be trusted to make sound decisions, manage service calls, and maintain strong customer relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Perform preventative maintenance and emergency service calls
Assist with and lead equipment installations
Troubleshoot motors, pumps, controls, and related systems
Complete accurate service documentation and invoices
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers
Participate in rotating on-call schedule
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
3 years of field service, industrial maintenance, or commercial equipment repair experience
Strong electrical troubleshooting ability (control systems, motors, wiring, etc.)
Mechanical aptitude (pumps, belts, bearings, hydraulics)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Valid Michigan driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening (if applicable)
PREFERRED (BUT NOT REQUIRED):
CDL and/or HAZMAT certification
Experience with car wash equipment or similar automated systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift, bend, crawl, reach overhead, and work in tight spaces
Willingness to travel throughout Michigan
Occasional overnight stays may be required
