Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Contract Length: 9 Months

The ETS Business Systems Delivery (BSD) Customer Engagement Pega team partners with Customer Operations and Energy Services organizations to deliver critical enterprise technology initiatives. As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of applications that support essential business operations and customer engagement platforms.
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Responsibilities

• Drive the software quality assurance lifecycle across Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and development teams to define comprehensive testing strategies.
• Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Create and maintain automated UI, functional, and regression test suites using modern automation frameworks.
• Perform hands-on manual testing to validate application functionality and user experience.
• Enhance and support Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines to improve release quality and efficiency.
• Review, validate, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and issues in systems under test.
• Contribute to quality engineering best practices and continuous process improvements.

Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test, QA Automation Engineer, or Senior Test Engineer.
• Strong experience with web application testing and Continuous Integration processes.
• Hands-on expertise with automation testing tools such as Selenium and Playwright.
• Experience with API testing using Postman and/or SoapUI.
• Knowledge of SQL databases and database validation techniques.
• Experience with version control, defect tracking, and test management tools including ADO, JIRA, and RCLM.
• Strong manual testing experience across functional and regression testing efforts.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar platforms.
• Background supporting enterprise-scale applications and customer engagement platforms.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
