Part time compounding pharmacy technician needed for a retail/compounding pharmacy in Cross River, NY. IMMEDIATE HIRE. Prior compounding or pharmacy experience strongly preferred, but not required. We will train the right candidate on-site as needed.
As a pharmacy technician, you must be detail-oriented and reliable since the job has high responsibility. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers and basic laboratory equipment (you will be trained to use all equipment properly). Basic math skills and problem-solving skills are required.
Job Type: Part-time with the potential for full-time in the future
Starting pay: $20/hour (sliding scale based on compounding experience)
Position Functions and Responsibilities:
- Compounding of veterinary and human medications under supervision of a pharmacist
- Input and filling of prescriptions to be checked by a pharmacist
- In person and over the phone customer service
- Keep pharmacy & lab clean in compliance with state and federal requirements
Qualifications:
- Over 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior pharmacy, compounding, lab, or veterinary technician experience preferred
- Computer skills a must
- Experience with pharmacy software preferred
- Good math and verbal skills
- Reliable transportation
- Able to work a flexible schedule
