Position Overview
Cross Resource Group is seeking a Senior Implementation Manager to support Enterprise Risk Projects at Columbia Generating Station. This role provides technical leadership, project implementation oversight, governance, and execution support for complex nuclear maintenance, modification, outage, and capital project activities.
The Senior Implementation Manager serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to Project Managers and leadership teams, helping ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements.
This position plays a critical role in identifying opportunities to improve project execution strategies, reduce schedule risk, optimize resource utilization, improve quality outcomes, and support successful project delivery in a commercial nuclear environment.
Working through Cross Resource Group, the selected candidate will support some of the most visible and strategically important projects at Columbia Generating Station while collaborating with engineering, maintenance, operations, project controls, and contractor organizations.
What You'll Do
Project Execution & Technical Oversight
- Review project implementation strategies and execution plans to improve schedule performance, quality, and resource utilization
- Provide technical review and challenge of project documentation, schedules, work packages, implementation plans, and risk mitigation strategies
- Evaluate project readiness and identify gaps prior to field execution
- Support Project Managers in the successful execution of Enterprise Risk Projects and outage-critical work activities
- Identify opportunities to reduce project risks, improve outage performance, and enhance project delivery outcomes
- Review project budgets, assumptions, estimates, staffing plans, and execution strategies
Work Management & Field Support
- Validate quality and readiness of Work Order Tasks (WOTs) prior to field implementation
- Identify and correct work package deficiencies, error traps, incorrect references, and procedural issues
- Review testing, commissioning, turnover, and acceptance plans
- Support development and implementation of mock-ups, testing strategies, and field readiness activities
- Provide field oversight and execution support during outages, online maintenance activities, and major project work
Risk Management & Governance
- Review project schedules, risk registers, implementation plans, and resource loading strategies
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation recommendations
- Support project readiness reviews, challenge meetings, implementation briefings, and risk management meetings
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, nuclear procedures, and industry best practices
- Provide candid feedback to project teams and leadership regarding project health and execution risks
Leadership & Collaboration
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations, project controls, vendors, and contractors
- Participate in design reviews, steering committee meetings, and project implementation meetings
- Mentor project teams and share operating experience lessons learned
- Communicate project execution concerns, recommendations, and status updates to leadership
- Serve as designated project oversight lead during alternate shifts when required
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
Requires one of the following:
- Advanced (Graduate) Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Technical Discipline, Business, or related field AND 10 years of electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, or regulated industrial environment
OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Technical Discipline, Business, or related field AND 12 years of electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, or regulated industrial environment
OR
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university AND 14 years of electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, or regulated industrial environment
OR
- High School Diploma/GED AND 16 years of electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, or regulated industrial environment
Required Skills & Experience
- Commercial nuclear power plant experience required
- Experience supporting multiple nuclear refueling outages
- Strong understanding of nuclear maintenance and operational processes
- Experience supporting large-scale maintenance, modification, capital, or enterprise risk projects
- Knowledge of work management processes and outage execution practices
- Strong understanding of nuclear safety culture and human performance tools
- Experience reviewing work packages, implementation plans, testing plans, and field execution strategies
- Familiarity with regulatory and code requirements governing maintenance and field activities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- Advanced computer skills
Technical Expertise
Experience with:
- Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
- SAP, Asset Suite, or similar enterprise management systems
- Risk management and project readiness processes
- ASME code requirements and repair/replacement activities
- Work package development and execution
- Clearance orders and turnover planning
- Resource loading and staffing strategies
- Welding, rigging, material handling, and field implementation practices
- Testing and commissioning activities
- Nuclear outage execution methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience serving in a Project Oversight, Implementation Manager, Outage Manager, Maintenance Manager, or Project Execution leadership role
- ASME Section XI Repair & Replacement experience
- Experience supporting Enterprise Risk Projects
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in commercial nuclear environments
- Extensive knowledge of outage critical path management
- Experience mentoring project managers and project teams
