Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sit Down Forklift Operator/Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating sit-down forklifts and other heavy equipment to efficiently handle materials, manage inventory, and support warehouse distribution operations. Duties
- Safely operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
- Conduct order picking using various equipment such as
pickers and order pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently - Manage shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation and labeling
- Assist with warehouse management system (WMS) updates to track inventory levels and location movements
- Perform routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure all machinery operates safely and effectively
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock, stacking pallets, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and company policies during all operations
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo’s, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes such as load & unload procedures, shipping & receiving protocols, and order picking techniques
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshoot issues promptly
- Excellent physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and materials handling in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy
- Prior experience in warehouse supervision or managing warehouse operations is a plus
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and general warehouse safety standards
