General Manager – Landscape Maintenance Operations
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced, career-minded General Manager to lead a highly successful, award-winning Landscape Maintenance division within a long-established, family-owned organization.
This is a long-term leadership opportunity, not a grow-and-sell environment. The General Manager will play a key role in sustaining operational excellence, strengthening teams, and continuing a legacy of service, quality, and community reputation.
You will oversee a stable, high-performing operation supporting 800 active customers, 100 team members (including seasonal labor), and multiple internal departments. This role is part of a larger organization with 230 team members across Central Virginia, recognized as the region’s most diverse horticulture company.
What You’ll Do
- Direct and grow a highly successful, award-winning landscape maintenance operation
- Lead core business functions including contract renewals, sales, profitability, labor planning, and operational efficiency
- Provide direct leadership to production, account management, administrative, and sales teams
- Oversee financial performance including budgeting, labor management, and P&L accountability
- Implement systems and process improvements to strengthen efficiency and long-term operational stability
- Drive strategic asset planning and resource allocation
- Build and lead high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, and conflict resolution
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety standards
- Partner closely with ownership on strategic and operational priorities
- Bilingual communication is required to effectively lead diverse teams and support customer relationships
About You
- Proven experience leading multi-team operations in landscaping, horticulture, or service-based industries
- Strong financial acumen with P&L and budgeting experience
- Skilled in team leadership, development, and performance management
- Experience overseeing production, administrative, and sales functions
- Strong communicator and relationship builder
- Comfortable managing large teams and complex operational environments
- Bilingual (required)
