Work Environment
The successful candidate will operate primarily in patients' homes, delivering therapy in a comfortable and familiar environment. This onsite role allows for more personalized patient interactions and enables therapists to better assess and address individual needs. Therapists will have flexible work schedules, typically from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients in their home environments, developing personalized treatment plans based on individual assessments.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions, including exercise regimens, stretching techniques, hands-on therapy, and equipment-based rehabilitation, to accelerate patient recovery.
- Continuously monitor and document each patient's progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to meet changing needs and achieve therapeutic goals.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures and proper use of assistive devices to enhance self-care and mobility.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest physical therapy practices and techniques through workshops, continuing education, and professional networking.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role will involve working with a diverse patient population, ranging from children to elderly adults, addressing a variety of conditions such as post-operative recovery, stroke rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and mobility issues due to age or disability. Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
- A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
- Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience is required.

- Proficiency in digital documentation and word processing tools for maintaining accurate patient records.
