Job Summary:
An Operating Room Technician (ORT) specializing in surgical technology is sought in Lafayette, Colorado. This position involves working as a key member of the surgical team to support safe and efficient operative procedures. The incumbent will operate under the supervision of a registered nurse and contribute to system-wide surgical operations initiatives. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Lafayette, Colorado
- Schedule: Open to discuss 4 ten-hour shifts or 3 twelve-hour shifts
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
- Start Date: 07/20/2026
- Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam), with two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years. Licensed in Colorado (DORA) is required. NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist certification is required. BLS (AHA) certification is required.

- Additional Information: Candidates should demonstrate expertise in sterile field management, environmental safety, sharps safety, fire safety, sterilization processes, and surgical support operations. Experience in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) scrubbing and surgical team support is highly preferred.
- Certifications & Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers; active certification as an Operating Room Technician (ORT) in surgery or Certified Surgical Technologist.
- Skills & Experience: Ability to maintain sterile environment, recognize safety hazards, respond appropriately in emergencies, support surgical team operations, and ensure compliance with sterilization standards.
