Job Summary: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Webster, TX. The role supports specialized care for critically ill neonates within a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, assisting with unit-based data collection and daily clinical needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift time, 12 shift hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); STABLE (preferred); experience with central lines including UAC, UVC, broviacs, and PICC (or equivalent central line experience); willingness to float to the newborn nursery as needed.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in STABLE; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required, with additional consideration for candidates who hold related NICU stabilization skills.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care in a unit supporting varied acuity levels, with reported nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 13 per nurse depending on acuity (level 3) and 34 per nurse (level 2).
- Works with unit equipment including isolettes, OMNI beds, phototherapy devices, and computer systems.
- Supports typical procedures including IV starts and PICC insertions performed by trained clinicians.
- Team environment expectations include being a team player and demonstrating self-motivation.
- Unit coverage includes a charge role and additional nursing and patient care staffing per shift; weekends include four weekend shifts per schedule minimum, with occasional on-call coverage.
- Dress code includes royal blue scrubs.
