Labor and Delivery Nurse, Indiana This position involves providing specialized care in a Level IV Women & Infants Hospital. The role includes managing patients during active labor and early latent labor, adhering to guidelines, and working in a high-risk unit. The nurse will serve as charge nurse in both Labor & Delivery and high-risk units, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Job Details
- Position Description: Seeking a Level IV trained Labor & Delivery nurse for a new Women & Infants Hospital with a 15-bed labor and delivery unit, 20-bed high-risk unit, and 8-bed obstetric triage. Must be familiar with magnesium, insulin drips, advanced neonatal resuscitation (NRP), and advanced external fetal monitoring.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), licensure verified via Nursys, experience with labor and delivery care, and familiarity with High-Risk Obstetric management.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week, with every third weekend and holiday rotation. The orientation includes two shifts.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with magnesium, insulin drips, and external fetal monitoring, along with a commitment to adhering to AWHONN guidelines.
- Additional Information: The role involves adherence to AWHONN guidelines, maintaining 1:1 patient care during active labor, and caring for two patients in early, latent labor. The position requires a strong commitment to working with no tolerance for calling in, and there may be an opportunity to float to a neighboring facility if needed.
