Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position involves providing specialized care in a state-of-the-art Level IV Women & Infants Hospital. The role requires adherence to established guidelines and protocols, with a focus on maternal and neonatal health during active and latent labor. The nurse will be responsible for managing high-risk patients, performing targeted assessments, and supporting deliveries in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, familiarity with Magnesium, insulin drips, and advanced external fetal monitoring. No minimum experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with pregnant patients in labor and delivery settings, prior experience in a high-risk unit, and adherence to AWHONN (Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) guidelines.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The nurse will serve as charge nurse in both Labor & Delivery and the high-risk unit, providing direct patient care during deliveries, and maintaining a commitment to working with no tolerance for calling in. The unit operates with a focus on safety and adherence to clinical standards, including 1:1 care during active labor and two patients in early, latent labor.
