Job Summary:

Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a healthcare facility in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This position involves providing high-level patient care in a busy ICU environment, managing critically ill patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, pneumonia, COVID-19, and other complex conditions. The RN will be responsible for utilizing advanced skills in ventilator management, vasoactive medication titration, and invasive procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026.


• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), and certified in the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, with prior travel experience preferred. Must be competent with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), ventilators (vents), post-cardiac arrest care including therapeutic hypothermia, vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics.


• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with ICU equipment including ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, and high-flow systems.


• Additional Information: The unit is staffed with a dedicated respiratory therapist (RT) covering 24/7, including ventilator support, and includes telemetry monitoring that RN staff are responsible for interpreting and managing. The ICU maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:2, with flexibility to adapt to patient census. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permitted with unit needs. The unit also has a holiday rotation schedule, and whether travelers work weekends depends on staffing requirements. Orientation includes two general/floor shifts and completion of EPIC training.
