Job Summary:
The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Kodiak, Alaska, at a Level IV Trauma Center. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Kodiak, Alaska
- Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
- Experience Required: 1 Year of ER experience; candidates must have a valid State License (allowed to submit with a pending license, takes 10-12 weeks) and current certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
- Shift: Rotating schedule, with 3x12-hour variable shifts.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, minimum of 60 hours every two weeks; traveler can be called off for 1 shift every two weeks.
- Additional Requirements: Previous charge experience is required; candidates must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year).
- Unit Details: Critical Access Hospital level IV Trauma Center, staffed with 2 nurses per shift, no techs, CNAs, or unit secretary.
- Skills and Responsibilities: Care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, procedural sedation monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs.
- Additional Information: Candidates' permanent addresses must be at least 50 miles from the facility. References: 2 references covering the past year, including charge nurses or leads.
- Float Policy: Yes, floating within scope to meet facility needs.
- Housing and Transportation: Facility provides housing (typically a 1-bedroom apartment) and a rental vehicle for the duration of the assignment. Travel restrictions apply, including no pets allowed.
- Submission Requirements: SSN, DOB, RTO request must be included at the time of submission; copy of certifications; Epic charting experience preferred.
