Job Summary:
An Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in open heart procedures is needed for a high-acuity facility located in Los Angeles, California. The position entails providing care for complex cardiac cases, including valve replacements and intra-aortic balloon pump placements. Candidates must have at least one year of travel experience and four or more years in high-acuity hospitals, with recent experience in the last two years. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

- Shift & Hours: 4x10 Days, 6:45 am start (early cases at 6:00 am), end at 5:15 pm, minimum 40 hours per week
- Float Required: Yes, float rotation may be required.
- Required Qualifications: Valid and active California RN license, BLS from the American Heart Association, 1 years travel experience, 4 years in high-acuity hospitals (including 2 recent years), experience with general, robotics, and complex cardiac cases, including open heart procedures that require solo scrub or circulation experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience at academic centers such as UCLA or other renowned heart institutes, ability to adapt quickly, handle complex, high-volume cases (815 cases/day), and support surgeons in highly complex surgeries and redo cases
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider) required; ACLS preferred; Fire & Safety Certification must be obtained within 30 days if not held
- Facility Details: Trauma Level 1, 400-bed hospital with 24 OR beds and an average of 4050 cases daily, including open heart, neuro, urology, endovascular, transplants, oncology, and orthopedic procedures; EMR: Cerner
- Vaccination and Health Requirements: Full flu vaccination during season, COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended, and other health and competency exams as detailed in the documentation
Additional Information:
Qualified candidates with arrest or conviction records will be considered in accordance with applicable local laws and ordinances. The assignment will not require work or calls on holidays; however, an additional shift may be needed during the week to meet coverage requirements.
