Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery licensed nurse is needed in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. This role involves providing high-quality care for laboring patients, including those undergoing vaginal and cesarean deliveries, across multiple facilities approximately 18 miles apart. The position offers an opportunity to work night shifts with a schedule of 12 hours per shift, with at least 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3 out of 4 weekends, no call requirement.
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of circulating C-Sections experience, 2 years of labor and delivery experience, IN or compact RN license, BLS through AHA, ACLS through AHA, NRP certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC Stork documentation, Centricity fetal monitoring system, Pyxis medication system.
- Additional Information:
- The position involves caring for the laboring patient, including nursing duties during vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and care of couplets.
- The unit utilizes EPIC charting, Centricity fetal monitoring, and Pyxis medication systems.
- The nurse will float between two facilities based on operational needs.
- Bed capacity includes 16 LDR rooms at PRMC and 10 at Randallia.
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1, possibly 1:2 in early labor or induction, and 1-3 for couplet care.
- The position includes a non-billable orientation of 8 hours, with full orientation hours non-billable.
- The facility accepts local travelers, with a local rate applying to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles.
