Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit RN position available in a healthcare facility located in an acute care setting. The role involves caring for ventilated patients, initiating and titrating intravenous drips, assisting with medical procedures such as intubations and line placements, and monitoring critically ill patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia. The position requires floating across ICU, progressive care, and medical-surgical units, with a focus on maintaining patient ratios, and involves a schedule of 12-hour shifts working three days per week, with weekday and weekend rotations.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, traditional weekday plus weekend rotation, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Indiana RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association), minimum 1.5 years ICU experience required, with 2 years preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 facilities, travel experience, and flexibility to float to all ICU, progressive care, and medical-surgical units with a 1:3 patient ratio.
- Additional Information: The unit features a 24-bed Medical ICU and a 12-bed Progressive Care unit. The unit utilizes Phillips heart monitors, Epic electronic medical records, Pyxis medication dispensing system, EKG machines, and dopplers. Orientation includes onboarding through workforce development with EPIC training and a one-day unit orientation. The facility accepts local travelers with a 12% rate reduction, and call-off policies permit up to 24 hours' notice per 13-week assignment.
