Job Summary

An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RN position is available in an acute care facility located in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing primary care in a critical care setting, managing complex patient conditions, and performing advanced skills such as titrating drips and caring for sedated, ventilated patients, including those with tracheostomies and central lines. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional committed to delivering exceptional patient care on a 12-hour day shift schedule.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, Days Only


• Required Qualifications: Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications, minimum 1 year of ICU experience, and strong skills in PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline care, and titration of vasoactive drips.


• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with respiratory failure, post-surgical care, post-CVA, trauma patients, and knowledge of telemetry monitoring.


• Float: ICU RNs may float to medical-surgical units.


• Additional Information: The unit comprises 8 beds with a 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio. Nurses provide primary ICU care, supported by house supervision 24/7, in-house respiratory therapy, and ongoing tele-health consultations after hours. Standard dress code is scrubs only, with OSF-approved T-shirts permitted. Orientation includes classroom training and two on-unit shifts with a preceptor.
