Position Overview:
- Deliver specialized instruction for high school students with mild-to-moderate disabilities.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect the unique social, emotional, and academic barriers faced by students returning to an educational setting.
- Proactively reach out to and support students facing barriers, using behavior management and crisis intervention strategies to support student success.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build flexible, student-centered learning environments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement for high school
- Prior experience supporting high-risk or at-promise youth (Preferred)
- Strong behavior management and crisis intervention skills with a high degree of adaptability
