Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist registered (RT) position is located in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This role involves providing advanced respiratory care for a diverse patient population, including adults, neonates, and pediatrics, within a level III neonatal intensive care unit and other clinical settings. The RT will be responsible for assessing patients, planning and administering treatments, and operating specialized equipment to support patient respiratory needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour nights, with every other weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights or Saturday/Sunday days), and every other holiday. Weekly minimum of 36 hours.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) license, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), minimum of 2 years of experience, ability to intubate independently for adults, prior level 2-3 neonatal intensive care unit experience including ventilator management, experience with pediatric and adult respiratory care, and EPIC electronic medical record system proficiency.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) experience, float rotation availability.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include assessing patients, planning treatments per physician orders, operating equipment such as ventilators and airway devices, and performing clinical duties including ABGs, EKGs, and ventilator management. The position requires teamwork and a commitment to patient safety and quality care, emphasizing a family-like environment.
