KEY HOURLY AND LINE/CAFE COOK POSITIONS | CROQUET CAFE - CENTENNIAL PARK
THE ORGANIZATION:
The Croquet Cafe is a modern, uniquely Nashville, nonprofit cafe that offers locally crafted food and drink in the heart of scenic Centennial Park, where every visit nourishes guests and the Park they love. The cafe is a collaboration between Metro Parks and its nonprofit support group, Centennial Park Conservancy. The cafe opened to visitors in late August.
We are currently hiring for part-time Key Hourly and Line/Cafe Cook positions. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a destination gathering place that will serve park visitors, tourists, and the entire Nashville community. The cafe is unique in that it’s a non-profit with proceeds supporting the Park’s revitalization, beautification, Parthenon Preservation, and Centennial Park Conservancy’s mission.
Centennial Park Conservancy sustains the vibrancy of Nashville’s Centennial Park, home to the historic Parthenon, by supporting Metro Parks in revitalizing and activating this public green space to ensure the Park remains a welcoming destination for recreation, culture, education, and community connection for all. The Croquet Cafe is located in a historic building, which has been repurposed from its initial use as the Centennial Park Croquet Clubhouse in the 1960s. The cafe enhances the Park experience and nourish visitors with authentic, local cuisine within the Park’s natural beauty –- enriching every visit and supporting its vibrancy. The fast casual concept focuses on serving sandwiches, wraps, salads, coffee, ice cream, smoothies, pastries, and more.
THE POSITIONS:
KEY HOURLY EMPLOYEE
- Position Summary: Supports the General Manager by overseeing daily operations during assigned shifts and ensuring excellent customer service.
- Key Responsibilities: Lead staff during assigned shifts; Open and close the café; Train new employees; Lead by example; Handle customer concerns and issues; Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are maintained; Ability to work all stations proficiently
- Qualifications: Previous café or restaurant experience; Leadership abilities; Strong problem-solving skills; Dependable and organized; Great team player; Ability to work efficiently while multitasking
- Pay: $14 - $16 Tip Share (which has been averaging $6.50 - $7.50 an hour)
LINE/CAFE COOK
- Position Summary: Prepares food items according to café recipes while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Key Responsibilities: Prepare sandwiches, salads, pastries, and other menu items; Prep ingredients for daily service; Maintain food quality and consistency; Keep station and equipment clean during service; Monitor food inventory and report shortages; Follow all health department regulations; Ability to cross-train on other stations
- Qualifications: Food preparation experience;Ability to multi-task; Knowledge of food safety practices; Reliable and punctual; Great team player!
- Pay: $14 - $16 Tip Share (which has been averaging $6.50 - $7.50 an hour)
