Crooker Construction is looking for a safety conscious candidate to join the team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The position will be in the Topsham shop but will travel to our jobsites and other Crooker facilities to repair and maintain our heavy construction equipment. Most of the work will be done independently but there are times when Mechanics may be required to work as a team to complete larger or more complex repairs and maintenance projects.

Crooker is looking for candidates who are motivated to be a part of a team and able to support the daily needs of the maintenance shop. Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.

Requirements:

• Must have a strong attention to detail
• Must have strong problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills to run scanning machines
• Must have good communication skills
• Must be able to work independently and successfully switch between tasks throughout the day
• Must be able to work the necessary schedule which may include long days, nights, and/or weekends
• Valid commercial driver's license class A or B is a plus
• 2 years of previous experience with a heavy construction and paving company is preferred
