Electrical Service Dispatcher
Location: Lawrence, KS (downtown office)
Job Type: Full-Time, permanent with benefits
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8-5, no nights/weekends expected

Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Electrical Service Dispatcher to join our growing company. This role is responsible for scheduling service calls, dispatching electricians and solar energy technicians, and serving as the primary point of contact between customers and field technicians. The ideal candidate has dispatch experience in the trades, strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced service environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming customer calls and schedule electrical and solar service appointments
- Dispatch electricians efficiently based on location, skill level, and urgency
- Coordinate same-day, next-day, and emergency service calls
- Communicate job details clearly to field technicians
- Track technicians’ status and update customers on arrival times
- Manage work orders, daily schedules, and job updates in dispatch software (we use BuildOps- similar to Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan)
- Handle schedule changes, cancellations, and urgent service requests
- Provide professional, courteous customer service at all times
- Assist with job closeouts, invoicing support, and documentation
- Maintain accurate customer and technician records
Required Qualifications
- Previous dispatch or scheduling experience (service industry preferred)
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Comfortable using computers, scheduling software, and basic office tools
- Ability to stay calm and problem-solve in high-volume or urgent situations
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Dispatch experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or other skilled trades
- Knowledge of solar or electrical service terminology
- Experience with field service management dispatch systems
- Customer service experience
