Crittenton Services of Greater Washington (Crittenton) seeks a part-time 1099 contractor to serve as a Youth Development Program Coordinator (Floater) supporting school-based programming across Washington, DC, and Montgomery County, MD.

This role is ideal for a dynamic, adaptable youth development professional who thrives in a flexible environment and is passionate about supporting girls and young women. The floater will provide coverage across multiple program sites to ensure continuity and high-quality program delivery.

This position offers the potential opportunity for transition into a full-time role, based on performance, organizational needs, and available funding.

Position Type

  • Part-Time Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Hourly, non-exempt contractor role
  • Flexible schedule based on program needs
  • Evening and occasional weekend availability required
  • Multi-site (DC and Montgomery County, MD)

Compensation

  • $40 per hour (1099 contractor)
  • No benefits provided (independent contractor classification)
  • Contractor is responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, and business expenses

Primary ResponsibilitiesProgram Delivery & Floater Support

  • Facilitate youth development sessions across multiple school sites as assigned
  • Provide coverage for staff absences, vacancies, or program expansion needs
  • Deliver curriculum focused on social-emotional learning, healthy relationships, and leadership development
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Relationship Building

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with program participants
  • Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and staff across sites
  • Engage parents/guardians to support attendance and retention when appropriate

Participant Engagement & Support

  • Maintain communication with participants to support consistent attendance and engagement
  • Support Crittenton’s “whole girl” approach by identifying participant needs and connecting them to appropriate services and resources

Administrative Support

  • Assist with recruitment, registration, and retention of participants
  • Maintain accurate attendance and program documentation
  • Support program logistics, coordination, and communication across sites

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Public Health, Youth Development, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience working with youth
  • Experience facilitating group-based programming for middle or high school youth
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly across multiple environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering programs in DC or Montgomery County
  • Strong group management and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices

Additional Requirements

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between sites
  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
  • Alignment with Crittenton’s commitment to equity and inclusion

Independent Contractor Notice

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. The individual selected for this role will not be considered an employee of Crittenton Services of Greater Washington and will not be eligible for employee benefits. The contractor will maintain control over their schedule within program needs and will be responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws.
