NUTRITION COORDINATOR
Summary/Objective
Under the supervision of a Child Development Center Director, the Nutrition Coordinator serves meals and snacks for children enrolled in the Child Development Center.
Essential Functions

Classroom Teacher
- Follows Adult and Child Food Program guidelines and accreditation standards.
- Sets the tables in each room.
- Cleans up after meals.
- Performs a daily check of refrigerator temperatures to ensure compliance standards.
- Completes all necessary paperwork.
- Orders food on a weekly basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an early childhood learning environment. The role routinely comes into contact with clients who may have a variety of illness and varying degrees of hygiene. The job also includes frequent exposure to outside weather conditions. This role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, bend, stand, squat, kneel, climb, crouch, crawl, stoop, reach or sit on the floor (with children), talk, see, taste, smell and hear.
The employee must regularly lift or move items up to 10 pounds frequently lift or move items up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Job holder must be able to physically respond quickly in an emergency.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position covers day time hours, Monday through Friday. Work times may vary depending upon the Agency needs. This position may require overtime.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
A Criminal Background and Abuse check, as well as an up to date physical, including a TB test is required. A fingerprint background check is also required for all Child Development Programs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
- A valid driver’s license and a driving record sufficient to qualify for agency automobile coverage.
- Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
