We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and implement high-performance electrical systems for data centers. This role supports the delivery of mission-critical facilities with a focus on power reliability, scalability, and energy efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power distribution, backup systems, and standards related to mission-critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify electrical systems including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, UPS, switchgear, generators, and lighting for data centers.
- Develop single-line diagrams, load calculations, grounding, short-circuit, and arc flash studies.
- Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and controls engineers to deliver coordinated designs.
- Review submittals, construction drawings, and RFIs to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to design intent.
- Participate in commissioning processes, including factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT).
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and other applicable codes and standards.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to define project requirements and technical specifications.
- Support design-build projects from concept through construction and turnover.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
- Prepare technical reports, construction documents, and specifications for submittal packages.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in data centers or mission-critical environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and power system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, or similar).
- Strong understanding of power distribution, grounding, emergency systems, and arc flash mitigation.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards: NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA, Uptime Institute, etc.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- PE (Professional Engineer) licensure strongly preferred.
- Experience working with hyperscale or colocation data center clients (e.g., AWS, Google, Meta).
- LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainable power system design.
- Experience in field commissioning or startup of electrical systems.
- Familiarity with Tier III/IV design principles and Uptime certification process.
