The Associate Director of Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) Operations manages the day-to-day operations of CWSP. The Associate Director is responsible for student training and partner service delivery to ensure continuous improvement of the program, and recognition as a quality brand within the San Diego area business and civic community. The Associate Director of CWSP Operations is responsible for communicating with students and their families, and delivering reliable, budget-friendly operational assistance to Cristo Rey San Diego High School. This individual will work closely with and is supervised by the Vice President of Corporate Work Study Program as well as collaborate with the Cristo Rey San Diego High School senior leadership team on a wide variety of organizational decisions. This position is a full time annual position. The Associate Director of CWSP Operations reports directly to the Vice President of Corporate Work Study Program.
Roles and Responsibilities
Essential Client/Student Functions
Day-to-Day CWSP Operations & DOL Compliance
- Responsible for overseeing the scheduling of safe and timely transportation of student workers to client sites
- Accountable for maintaining compliance with all legal, safety and employment requirements (Federal, State, and local) for the work study program, as well as employment agreements with clients;
- Responsible for planning and execution of CWSP pre-matriculation training for incoming students including leading Summer School Academy for CWSP
- Responsible for creating a professional curriculum framework that emphasizes workplace skill development (technical and noncognitive) to ensure student employability and success at work
- Supervises the effective client placement of student workers and associated work schedules
- Makes certain all I-9 and required student worker documentation is provided in a timely manner
- Coordinates semi-annual student worker performance evaluations and reporting to Network
- Manages the logistics of morning send-off and student return to school
- Demonstrates Salesforce expertise in documenting and supporting contract entry, through the SAPR process
- Leads and coordinates all CWSP sponsored event development, execution and follow-up.
- Responsible for helping to manage the CWSP budget
- Collaborates with school departments on any school lead events needing CWSP involvement. Examples include,
- Principal and school faculty to deepen curricular connections between what students learn in the classroom, and in the workplace, improving performance in both settings
- Director of Admissions to develop / update CWSP new student requirements. Promote and answer questions regarding the CWSP experience for prospective students and their families, as well as conduct non-academic based assessments regarding students’ employability within CWSP
- Participates in School leadership teams in developing and enforcing policies and structures to ensure a high level of student performance, programmatic quality control, and healthy client relationships
- Participates in School Study Team and Grade Level Team decisions regarding students.
CWSP Communications
- Responsible for cultivating a customer relationship management approach to client service activities that emphasizes responsiveness and accuracy
- Oversees, in collaboration with CWSP staff, regular and timely communication and resources to support student workers and clients
- Drafts and distributes CWSP newsletter stories for distribution to families and/or school distribution
- Works collaboratively and enthusiastically as a part of the CWSP team to benefit student workplace and career success
- Responsible for the general morale of CWSP staff, providing a quality work environment through teaming principles, effective leadership and a demonstrated positive attitude
- Supports engagement with the Cristo Rey Network, including participation at CWSP-specific gatherings, professional development and the Annual Network Meeting and responding to routine and periodic requests for program specific data from the Network
Transportation Management
- Provide oversight and leadership for the Transportation Manager, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
- Responsible for the management and oversight of the following in conjunction with the Transportation Manager
- Oversee auto-van safety protocols, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory standards
- Monitor legal compliance of transportation routes, making necessary adjustments to align with requirements
- Develop, implement, and refine van check-out systems to improve efficiency and accountability
- Manage van maintenance schedules, coordinating routine servicing and addressing mechanical concerns proactively
- Assess and monitor driver proficiency, providing feedback and performance evaluations to maintain operational excellence
- Design and deliver professional development topics and instructional sessions on a quarterly basis for drivers
- Supervise and evaluate drivers, implementing corrective actions and support strategies as needed
Remote Work Management
- Management of and supervisory role for students working in a remote worksite
- Support Associate Directors, Partner Relations team with the management of partners with remote work study programs

- Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred; not required)
- Ability to independently work effectively and efficiently, as well as within a team structure.

Qualifications

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Background in managing personnel in the Van Driver fleet
