Position Description

The Facilities Manager at Cristo Rey Miami High School plays a vital role in creating and sustaining a welcoming, safe, and inspiring environment where the Cristo Rey community can learn, grow, and thrive.

This position ensures that all campus facilities operate efficiently and reflect the high standards of excellence and hospitality that define the Cristo Rey mission.

The Facilities Manager oversees daily operations of the school’s physical plant, leads the maintenance team, manages preventive maintenance programs, and responds promptly to facility needs or emergencies. This individual supports the school’s educational mission by ensuring that all spaces, classrooms, offices, common areas, and grounds are functional, welcoming, and aligned with Cristo Rey Miami’s commitment to student success.

Job Description

● Maintain all school facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and optimal functionality across campus.

● Conduct routine inspections of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, security, and communications to identify and resolve issues proactively.

● Respond immediately to facility emergencies to minimize disruption to school operations.

● Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan to support long-term facility sustainability.

● Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations, building codes, and Cristo Rey Miami policies.

● Supervise, coach, and support the team under their supervision, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.

● Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules to ensure timely

completion of cleaning, repairs, and preventive tasks.

● Adjust team schedules as needed to support school events, special projects, or urgent facility needs.

● Provide ongoing training and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality work and

professional growth.

● Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, maintenance services, and emergency support.

● Manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and high-quality service delivery.

● Oversee inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability for routine and emergency needs.

● Review and negotiate vendor contracts to support operational efficiency and stewardship of school resources.

● Prepare facilities for school events, ensuring spaces meet all logistical and safety requirements.

● Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related emergencies, coordinating immediate and effective responses.

● Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, emergency responses, and vendor agreements.

Qualifications

● 3–5 years of facilities or building maintenance experience.

● Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.

● Experience supervising maintenance or custodial staff.

● Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem‑solving skills.

● Ability to respond quickly to facility emergencies.

● Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.

● Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed.

● Strong communication and teamwork skills.

● Commitment to Cristo Rey Miami’s mission and school environment.

Preferred:

● Experience in schools or mission‑driven organizations.

● Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, facilities).

● Budget and vendor management experience.

● Bilingual English/Spanish and/or Creole.

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
