The Part-time Facilities & Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintaining the building grounds in a safe, clean, and functioning condition. This position focuses on essential daily operations and basic repairs to ensure a positive learning environment.

The Part-time Facilities & Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintaining the building grounds in a safe, clean, and functioning condition. This position focuses on essential daily operations and basic repairs to ensure a positive learning environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve work orders received through the school work order system.
- Address needs accordingly for snow/salt conditions in winter to ensure ample pathways and sidewalks are cleared between building entrances and the streets.
- Address needs of landscaping and grounds’ appearance taking regular action to maintain positive, clean, and orderly appearance. This includes trash and gum removal.
- Perform basic repairs to ensure functional furniture and equipment throughout school. This includes performing repair tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, lighting, HVAC and use of power tools.
- Support arranging and completing set-up and takedown for special events.
- Receive and distribute all deliveries to school.
- Perform daily maintenance tasks according to plan with sensitivity to school schedule and usage.
- Support snow/salt application in winter to ensure pathways and sidewalks are cleared between building entrances and streets.
Qualifications:
- Maintain a strong service-oriented attitude.
- 1-2 years of experience in facilities and/or property management, worked in a school environment a plus
- Basic abilities in repair skills (carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, electrical
- Strong organization, time management, and task prioritization skills
- Ability to coordinate efforts among individuals and work collaboratively with others
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with faculty, staff, parents, and others.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English fluently
- Must have a valid state driver's license
- Must be willing and able to complete and pass background and alcohol / drug tests
- Ability to drive 10-passenger van is a plus
- Ability to climb ladders and work on high lifts occasionally
- Ability to use diplomacy, professionalism, and discretion in your behavior with internal and external constituencies
- Basic computer skills.
