Duties And Responsibilities
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting unacceptable materials.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Involves working with Engineering and other departments to evaluate products and report results.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2-3 years inspection experience. Experience working with electrical harnesses and/or connectors is preferred. Working knowledge of using video measuring systems is desirable.
- Should be familiar with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001.
- Should be familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and other Aerospace workmanship and quality standards.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must have a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and use of vision systems and/or coordinate measuring equipment.
- Must be proficient working with basic precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial/digital indicators, height gages, thread gages, pin gages, etc.
- Must have experience performing first article inspection in accordance with AS9102 or equivalent.
- Must be comfortable working with binocular microscopes for extended periods
- Must be able to pass Visual Acuity requirements (color, depth perception and field of vision)
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must follow strong safety standards
- Must possess attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work independently, focus, organize work, and complete assignments on time.
- Sitting and standing for long periods.
