Job Summary:

The Sr Director of Product leads the organization’s evolution from a reactive delivery model to a proactive, disciplined, and outcome-focused product organization. They are responsible for end-to-end management of a portfolio of applications and its continued development towards a cohesive platform of user-centric applications. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, the Sr Director of Product leads these transformations.
This role requires an accomplished product leader with demonstrated expertise making trade-offs, introducing structured prioritization, influencing internal and external stakeholders, and experience building a product mindset across functions and developing product-centered capabilities and skill sets within Product teams. The Sr Director will be responsible for the team’s success in driving ideation, discovery, adoption, and utilization of products that have real world impact on the health of millions of people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Product Leadership
• Lead the cultural and operational transition toward a product-led framework, championing the value of disciplined Product Management across business, clinical, and technical stakeholders.
• Partner with Senior Leadership to integrate product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmaps to achieve business objectives and evolving healthcare ecosystem demands.
• Establish and enforce a transparent product operating model, including decision rights, and governance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Product Discovery, Governance, and Portfolio Management
• Implement structured intake and prioritization processes, building the organizational capability to transparently balance immediate customer requests with scalable product strategy.
• Ensure a rigorous product discovery framework, ensuring that product decisions are grounded in validated user insights, usage data, and measurable ROI prior to development.
• Elevate the quality and consistency of product artifacts (e.g., roadmaps, problem statements, business cases, metrics) to ensure strategic clarity and cross-functional alignment.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Communications and Customer stakeholders to align on clear expectations, sequencing, and accountability across the product lifecycle.
• Define and track portfolio-level metrics and KPIs tied to product adoption, scalability, and strategic impact.
Team Management and Development
• Mentor, empower, and develop a diverse Product team, fostering an environment that builds product management excellence and supports professional growth.
• Establish clear performance expectations and team goals, equipping staff to successfully drive awareness, adoption, and expanded utilization of CSS products across the healthcare ecosystem.

Product Leadership and Change Management
• Demonstrated experience evolving an organization from project-based or customer-request driven delivery toward disciplined, outcome-focused product culture.
• Proven ability to navigate complex environments, utilizing excellent communication and critical thinking skills to build consensus across executive, delivery, and customer facing teams. Platform Strategy and Execution
• Proven ability to establish rigorous product governance, including clear decision rights, structured intake processes, prioritization frameworks, and roadmap governance.
• Strong track record of defining and executing multi-product strategies (across B2B, B2G, and B2B2C healthcare ecosystems), balancing immediate customer needs with long-term platform scalability.
• Expertise in utilizing structured discovery, user insights, and portfolio KPIs to guide strategic investment and communicate clear trade-offs.
Experience and Education Requirements:
• 10–12 years of progressive experience in product management, with at least 3–5 years successfully mentoring and developing a high performing product team.
• 3 years working in highly regulated healthcare technology, interoperability, or data platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
Compensation and Benefits Package:
• Targeted base salary: $190k - $240k per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus benefits and bonuses.
• Benefits include the following but are not limited to health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. CSS also has a 403(b) plan with discretionary employer match and contributions. You will be eligible for 20 days of Paid Time Off per year (accrued in accordance with CSS’ policies). PTO is in addition to 8 company designated holidays. If you are not PTO eligible, you may be eligible for applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave in accordance with the provisions of any applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave laws.
