Company Description
CRISP Shared Services (CSS) serves as the technology partner for health information exchange (HIE) partners in Maryland, DC, West Virginia, Connecticut, Alaska, Virginia, Kentucky, Florida, and other jurisdictions. CSS facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes, reduced costs, and data-driven understanding of regional public health concerns.
Job Summary
The mid-level business analyst will be part of a team responsible for consolidating various streams of healthcare data to produce business-ready data sets for analytics, reporting, and to support operational use cases for both internal and external stakeholders. CSS is currently running an Azure Data Lake 2 / Azure Data Factory / Spark / Databricks infrastructure with over 200 production use cases that consolidate several streams of healthcare data. The business analyst will be an excellent verbal and written communicator, possess attention to detail, the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, manage priorities, and the ability to identify and resolve problems. The business analyst plays a critical role on the Insights team to ensure delivered outputs meet requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Define and document business requirements and produce technical specifications for deliverables
- Communicate clear written specifications to data engineers
- Work with different stakeholders and subject matter experts from various backgrounds (clinical, public health, business, technical, research)
- Assist in coordination of the Agile/Scrum process, moving to leadership role
- Assist data engineers with testing and QA of deliverables to ensure alignment with requirements
- Help your team solve difficult problems - learning from and sharing with team members
- Manage priorities and requests in an organized manner
- Develop business knowledge of Insights data and workflows, understanding relationships between data sets
- Maintain documentation of data sources, use cases, and output specs

Experience and/or Education Requirements
- 4-year college degree (preferred)
- 3 years working as a Business Analyst or similar role in the Data Analytics field (required)
- Experience in healthcare IT or public health (preferred)
Compensation and Benefits Package
- Targeted base salary: $90k - $105k per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus benefits and bonuses.
- Benefits include the following but are not limited to health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. CSS also has a 403(b) plan with discretionary employer match and contributions. You will be eligible for 20 days of Paid Time Off per year (accrued in accordance with CSS' policies). PTO is in addition to 8 company designated holidays. If you are not PTO eligible, you may be eligible for applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave in accordance with the provisions of any applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave laws.
