Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills. Ability to deal with multiple tasks, computer competence, organizational and interpersonal skills. social work/case management experience preferred.
Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.
Salary: GA Classified Salary Schedule A21, 200 Days.

- Serves as social services assistant.
- Serves on community committees to coordinate truancy prevention.
- Works in collaboration with Law Enforcement, Department of Family and Children Services, and the Court System to enforce school attendance.
- Makes referrals and complaints to the Court System, the Department of Juvenile Justice or to the Department of Family and children Serves when appropriate.
- Performs case work services as appropriate for individual students and their parents/guardians who are referred by the student's school in order to correct attendance related issues.
- Performs home visits for the purpose of conferring with parents and gathering helpful information on a student's home environment as appropriate.
- Consults and collaborates, when necessary, with administrators, guidance counselors, teachers, school nurses or outside agencies in gathering and giving information on a case, and in establishing and planning of respective roles in the modification of the student's problematic behavior.
- Gives appropriate feedback to the referring personnel as to the status of the case in a timely manner.
- Travels to homes, offices, and schools.
- Works flexible hours when necessary.
- Knowledge of specific rules, laws and policies as applicable to investigations.
- Personal safety precautions when interfacing with hostile individuals and/or when entering unfamiliar environment.
- Ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Enhances the climate of the building and the morale of colleagues.
- Demonstrates loyalty to the school system and administration.
- Coordinates community referrals/resources for students/families (food, mental health, medical, dental, vision)
